My girls

Such a little cutie. Every day we see more and more of Chloe's personality. I have a feeling we are going to be in big trouble.
:)

This was dinner on Tuesday night -- Cassie had her first chicken leg. I think it was too much food for her -- since she had already eaten my chicken wing. Check out her still holding onto the chicken leg.

Breaking bread

Sundays I head out to the grocery store while the girls are napping. And most Sundays I buy a loaf of fresh bakery bread and most of the time it's still warm. Mmmmm. I will tell you I do this because the girls really like it -- but that's a lie -- oh, they do like it -- but I buy it because I really like it. I could eat the whole loaf myself slathered in butter. And I will never admit to doing that either. I will say that the girls have picked up on my Sunday bread and butter habit. It could be worse - right? Normally I give them a piece of bread to keep them quite/busy while I cook dinner. It started with giving them bread without butter on it so that they could walk around with it and not get butter on everything. But a few times I gave them a bite of my piece with butter on it. Needless to say, I now get the bread handed back to me from both of them if there is no butter on it. Yes, I have created bread and butter monsters. But that's better than cookie monsters -- isn't it?

Yesterday was no different than any other Sunday. But yesterday, they disappeared and got really quite -- never a good sign. When I went to find the little monsters, I found then sitting on the floor in the kitchen next to the table enjoying their bread and butter. The camera just happened to be sitting on the snack bar so I was also to get these sweet shots of them.

Did I tell you I just love these girls?

Sometimes they can be so sweet and good, and sisterly.

Good-bye sweet baby girl

My sweet baby girl died today. No reason for it, she wasn't sick, didn't have any major health problems, didn't eat poison, didn't get hit by a car, she just died. I guess it was just her time. One minute she was playing with her best friend in the whole wide world -- her orange ball -- then the next she laying in distress. Sonny was outside with her when it started so we know the exact timeline. It only was a matter of minutes and she was gone. Gone before we could do anything but panic as we watched over her during her last few minutes on this earth.

My little spitfire girl is gone. I'm lost, shocked and so, so sad. Losing both my four-legged babies in 10 months time is just heartbreaking. Thunder and Tehya were our first kids and now they are gone.

Our vet believes it was a blood clot that ended Tehya's life, based on the exam. The only comfort we have in all this is it was quick for her and she was doing what she loved most - just seconds before it happened - playing with her ball.

Tehya will be so missed. Right now I don't know how I'm going to get through my days without her. I only hope she knew how much we loved her.
