Cassie 'tested' as being about 6 months behind in her development on her speech/language/communications and Chloe about 9 - 12 months behind. I was very pleased with those results - based on what the girls have been through and how long they have each been home. I was asked if I wanted to do speech therapy and I declined for now. Chloe is still figuring out what parents are and since she just got her ear tubes in I expect her vocabulary to start exploding soon. I'm not against taking the girls to speech therapy but I want to see what I can do on my own during the next 6 months. That's when the girls will need to be reevaluated. They gave me some things to work on and told me to call if I have any questions so that's where we will leave it for now. My goal for January is to have Cassie on target for her age and Chloe at 6 months behind. So we'll see what the three of us can do together on this.
Here are some pictures of the girls from this weekend. We hung out in the backyard in the pool and went to the zoo on Saturday for my birthday. We love the zoo.

Happy belated birthday! Love the new pics. I am sure your angels will catch up with the speech in no time. I was planning to talk to the pediatrician on Monday about that too.

I love the photo of Chloe trying to push Cassie, so cute! Looks like you are enjoying summer! We haven't done the Zoo w/ Ella yet, we will have to try that!

I love these pictures of the two girls! They look like they are having sooo much fun this summer and I bet you guys are too. Makenna is still way behind in speech and she has been in speech therapy for 8 or 9 months! We have seen progress but it has been slow.

It is about time for me to update pro shots of mine. I can't believe it has been almost 9 months since Evan has been with us.
I think for right now you can probable do well teaching them. They will catch up in no time.
Love the new pictures of the girls. Really like the swimmng pool you have....very cool. Do you have any of the Signing Times DVDs? I have vol 1-3 and they were great for Taylor to not only learn sign but learn to say words. She would do the sign and say the word. There are some really good Sesame Street DVDs and Brainy Baby DVDs for learning the alphabet. Taylor loves them and has stared singing along with them and saying the words. They definately have helped the past few months and just asking her to repeat words I say. They will be talking at the appropiate levels before you know it!!!
