A very scared, quiet, tears in her eyes, thumb-sucking, very tan little 13 month old girl was literally dropped off on our hotel room bed two hours after we landed in Kunming.
This was that girl:
Two years later, that scared, quiet, thumb-sucking sad little girl is gone. She has been molded with our love into an always smiling, always dancing, funny, confident, talking up a storm, happy, loving, little angel.
SHE. HAS. COME. SO. FAR!
Cassie still has some issues at night -- as night time is still scary for her -- but even those issues have begun to fade, if only a little.
I can't imagine my life without her. I am amazed and feel so blessed every, single, day that I get to be her mother.
These are pictures from today:
What a difference time and love makes in all our lives.

SO Beautiful!!! love her cheeks!
She is just thriving in your loving family! We are so blessed to be lucky enough to have these angels as our daughters. Makes everything leading up to motherhood worth it.
Well said! Isn't it amazing what a little (okay, a LOT) of love can do? How lucky we are to witness the incredible transformation from frightened orphan to happy, self-assured daughters and sons.
So beautiful! Love does make the world go around.
