Happy 1st Birthday Baby Girl!!!!!

Cassie,

Mommy and Daddy wanted to write you a little note and let you know that we have been thinking about you every second of every day since we first saw your sweet little face on January 22nd. You were 10 months old that day and today you are 1 year old. Since we first learned you were our daughter we have been very, very anxious to go to China to see you, hold you, let you know you have parents who love you so much, and bring you home. We are still waiting for one more approval from the CCAA before we can schedule our trip to China. It looks like we won't be there to get you until May. I know and I agree -- that is way too long to have to wait. But know that we love you and think about you none-stop. Mommy has been very sad this week because you are turning 1 today and we can't be there with you. Please know that even through we aren't there to celebrate with you that you are in our every prayer. We miss you soooooo much!!!!! And very soon we will be together as a family. Soon baby girl -- soon. I promise we will be there as soon as we possibly can.

Mommy made you a birthday cake. Mommy needs a little practice on baking cakes but I still think it's kind of cute and fun. I think you would like it because it's chocolate and I know that's your favorite because it's your mommy's favorite too. It has lots and lots of frosting, and sprinkles too! Because you can't have a 1st birthday cake without sprinkles.

Mommy and Daddy also bought you a couple of new toys for your birthday. We got you a Go & Grow Lil' Rollin' Giraffe and a Big Discoveries Table. As soon as you get home you can play with them. Plus, you have lots and lots of other toys too. You have been getting lots of great gifts from all your new family and friends. They all think you are so special and wanted to spoil you just a tiny bit. Mommy and Daddy think spoiling you is a great idea.

It's midnight here and Sunday just started for us -- Mommy needs to get to bed soon. But that means it's noon in China. So I know that you are already awake for the day. Then again, maybe you are napping. I hope you are happy and smiling and I hope that you somehow know that you have a Mommy and Daddy that love you more than anything in the world.

Hugs and kisses baby girl.
And Happy 1st Birthday.

We love you sooooo much,
Mommy and Daddy.

Sweet Cassie,
Happy Birthday. Everyone wants you home soon so you can play with your sweet mommy and daddy.
There will never be another birthday you will have to spend away from the love of your parents.
I can't wait to be able to see you one day.

Love your Auntie Lesa

Sherry, I know from first hand experience how you feel on this day. I cried my eyes out when Wendy's 1st Birthday hit. We had a Care Bear Candle on her cake and had an Aunt over to celebrate with us. It wasn't the same though. You see Wendy's birthday is on November the 4th and we didn't get her in our arms until November the 29th. I was just miserable.
We have had the neatest birthdays ever since and I know you two will do the same for Cassie.

I had tears reading your note and boy did the memory of us being without Wendy for her first birthday became so clear all over again.

Mike and I sang to her the evening we got her and had a few things that didn't make it to China there for her. You see, we had mailed her a box of things for her birthday and didn't realize that they were not there for her on her big day. The box came back to me as round as a ball! I'm surprised that we got it back at all.

Hang in there sweet friend, you will be holding her very soon.

By the way love the cake, very pretty and yummy looking!

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. I know Cassie would be so happy that so many people are thinking about her today. She has no idea how loved she is and how lucky she is to have so many Aunts that love her.

Thank you all!
