A very scared, quiet, tears in her eyes, thumb-sucking, very tan little 13 month old girl was literally dropped off on our hotel room bed two hours after we landed in Kunming.
This was that girl:

Two years later, that scared, quiet, thumb-sucking sad little girl is gone. She has been molded with our love into an always smiling, always dancing, funny, confident, talking up a storm, happy, loving, little angel.
SHE. HAS. COME. SO. FAR!
Cassie still has some issues at night -- as night time is still scary for her -- but even those issues have begun to fade, if only a little.
I can't imagine my life without her. I am amazed and feel so blessed every, single, day that I get to be her mother.
