It's either laugh or cry

I'm choosing to laugh at this point. At least for now.

It's been a long first week home. Jet lag, sleeping (if you can call it sleep) on the couch, a sick 20-month old and a sick 23-month old, and a sick momma. Makes for a nice combination. NOT. At least dadda is still healthy.

The good news -- Cassie is feeling much better. The blisters in her throat are all gone -- we know this by her wanting to drink orange juice and being back to her happy little self -- well, most of the time. She still has a cold and a cough but right now that's a piece of cake. What Cassie had was - Herpangina - a form of the Coxsackievirus.

Chloe isn't so good. She was up screaming most of the night. She was miserable. So back to the doctor we went. Chloe has caught the Coxsackievirus from Cassie - yes, it was just a matter of time. But in Chloe it's worse and is in the form of hand, foot, and mouth disease -- the same virus as Herpangina, just a different form of it. Chloe has blisters in her mouth and throat and a red dotted rash on her legs, arms, and face. At first the doc thought it was chicken pox. Thank goodness it's not -- I'm thinking chicken pox would be worse -- but maybe not. Chloe now has an ear infection, a cold with a nasty cough, is wheezing, all along with her hand, foot, and mouth disease. Between the Amoxicillin, Tylenol with codeine and Benadryl I'm hoping she'll be feeling better soon.

I know I owe people emails, phone calls, thank-you cards, and packages and I'm sorry I'm behind. I'm thinking I'm going to be behind for another week or two.

Meanwhile, I hope everyone has a sleep-filled healthy weekend. We'll be fine - eventually.

What a week you and the girls have had. I hope you have a restful weekend and everyone is better or at least on the mend by Monday. Hope you get some sleep to. I got much more my 2nd week home than the first.

I am so sorry. Olivia and Celia had hand foot mouth and it was terrible. Hurts to see them in such pain. I had to use a medicine dropper to get liquids in them because they could not drink. Hang in there!

One of the children I worked with in the past had hand, foot, and mouth. It looked pretty miserable. I really hope little Chloe is on the mend soon. Just take it easy as much as you can. I'll be thinking about you.

Wow, poor girls and poor momma! Take care of yourselves. It isn't fun being sick when you are suppose to be having lots of fun at home. At least you are home being sick. It would have been much worse if everyone caught this in China.
I've been home for 3 months now and I'm still so far behind. I haven't even gotten Evan's announcements out yet! And I owe many packages!!! All in due time. I'm hoping all of my China Sisters are patient with me.

Oh Sherry! I am so sorry! I hope that poor Chloe is feeling better soon. It is a miserable virus. Just think, when you are past the jet lag and both girls are healthy, life will be a breeze! : ) I hope its soon!

Hi Honey! I truly didn't think you'd be blogging with all you're dealing with at home -- but I should've known better! I just figured an email here and there was all you could manage during this time. Know that we are thinking of all of you and hope that you are on the mend soon! And, don't worry about posting so much.... we'll all survive! Although, a quickie post telling us your feeling better is nice, so I know where you're coming from!
